DGS has been involved with the construction of public buildings for some 50 years and is fully cognisant of the increased responsibilities for matters such as security & safety of personnel which are placed on companies and individuals when undertaking works concerning schools, hospitals, police stations, correctional facilities and the like. These projects are undertaken with great pride as we are out there being given the opportunity of providing facilities for the use that benefits the community in one form or another. Some of the more recent examples are listed below:

Manly Hospital – Intensive Care Unit

Construction of a new specialist ICU for Manly Hospital, including provisions for medical gases, air-conditioning, waiting and isolation rooms, highly specialised electrical connections, and other various services all integrated with the existing hospital systems. This first floor addition and refurbishment required all work to be done while the Hospital continued to operate with minimal disruption. The project was fitted out with the necessary equipment to make this a modern and effective first class intensive care unit for both staff and patients. Significant structural underpinning and decontamination works was a feature of the works, all now hidden from view.

Mona Vale Hospital – Emergency Department

DGS were engaged to undertake the demolition of the existing ER building and re-construction of the Emergency department. Early works included extensive asbestos de-contamination ensuring that all future works togther with ongoing maintenance could be carried out in safety by all. This new building required all the specialised services required for a new ER including provisions for medical gases, air-conditioning, waiting and isolation rooms, highly specialised electrical connections, and other various services all integrated with the existing hospital systems. A complex project which incorporated upgrades to sections of the existing buildings as well, while the rest of the Hospital continued to operate as normal.

Narrabeen Lakes Public School

This quaint beach and lakeside school required significant works to bring it up to modern day standards. Along with the removal of the old demountables the school required major decontamination from asbestos and also, most unexpectedly, some unexploded ammunitions. With the construction of a new library, school hall, COLA and renovations to the original timber school building, as well as a new cark and landscaping the school was completed ahead of schedule and to the high quality expected form our firm.

Riverside Girls High School

DGS constructed the new buildings including canteen, classrooms and a two storey performing arts facility. Along with some substantial upgrades of the existing buildings, ramops and lifts for disabled access requirements, new carpark and landscaping the school was completed ahead of time and an above average standard of finish.

Eastwood Heights Public School

The local school was upgraded by providing two significant new buildings. One a two storey classroom and the other a partial two storey hall, COLA and amenities building. Other works included renovations to the existing administration building, new carpark , landscaping and playing field.

Moore Park East - Event Bus Stations, Sydney

These award winning designed Bus Shelters were built outside the famous SCG sports ground and has been used for events ranging from the Olympics through to Grand finals. With architectural elements consists of concrete and timber this project was completed to the high standards required for this very public location.

Quakers Hill Police Station for the NSW Department of Public Works & Services

A brand new station was built for the local area. Consisting of a sympathetic design to blend in the local area the facility provide offices, holding rooms and storage plus carparking and landscaping.
