Industrial Relations

D.G. Sundin & Co. has maintained an excellent industrial relations record since it began operations through awareness of responsibility as an ethical employer. Something we are very proud of. DGS implements employment conditions deemed to satisfy statutory obligations, and universal workforce standards.

Our approach to employee welfare is based on the same principles as other areas of management; that is to say, we maintain compliance with statutory requirements together with the additional provisions of the NSW Government Industrial Relations Management Guidelines.

Our industrial relations objectives can be summed up as follows:

  • A commitment to a well managed, harmonious and productive workplace
  • Compliance with statutory obligations
  • Maintaining a dispute free industrial environment through sound management of workplace issues. Importantly, communication and consultation with personnel and interested organisations is encouraged
  • Promoting positive outcomes through productive dispute resolution
  • Recognition, elimination and prevention of discriminatory behaviour
  • Transparent operations
  • Offering programs to maintain mutually beneficial relationships between employees and employers, including subcontractors, such as training and distribution of industry information
  • Ensuring all employees are adequately trained and have adequate resources available for activities undertaken in the course of their work
  • Insisting subcontractors comply with their statutory obligations as a contract condition

Only by implementing and regularly reviewing our industrial relations objectives can we be certain that our projects remain highly desirable working environments.
